Two day Eco Printing Workshop with teachers Cory + Cassidy of The Moon
Sunday, July 23, 11-5pm + Saturday July 29, 11-2pm
Learn to Eco Print your Community Supported Cloth outdoors, on the beautiful grounds of the O'Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley!
Eco Printing is a dye technique that is true to its name. It is environmentally friendly and works like a dye print in which the images of the plants used are transferred directly to the textile using only heat and water. You'll learn to use wild harvested plant materials (leaves, flowers, bark, etc.) to dye your garments or yardage. The dye comes out of the plant itself, it's really quite magical and we are so excited to share this technique with you!
Please choose one option:
+ If you did not pre-order Community Supported Cloth, pre-prepared yardage will be available for purchase the day of the workshop at $45/yard. (please bring cash or card. The price is what we paid for it.)
+ Bring your CSC wool pre-treated as per CSC instructions, up to 4 yards as yardage or cut into scarf/shawl lengths.
+ Bring 1-3 garments you've made on your own from your CSC wool.
+ If you have your CSC wool and you're not sure what to make with it, you can make a garment (or shawl or pillowcase) to dye in a Garment Construction Workshop with the lovely and talented Pia Andersson of Marin Sewing Lab:
Saturday, July 15, 11-4pm. $120 (the Makery, Mill Valley)
Sunday July 16, 10-3pm. $90 (Rainbow Fabrics, Fairfax)
Saturday, July 22, 2:30-7:30pm. $110 (O'Hanlon in Mill Valley)
